Day 27 - Tile Anyone?

MY JOURNEY

Buy a new house...

Is what a lot of my friends said to do.

Then you don't have to worry about anything going wrong, it's all new to you!

I'm too stubborn for that though.

My grandfathers both owned businesses that made things.

Both built homes on their own.

So how could I buy something new and not put my own sweat equity into it?

My wife and I bought this home 3 years ago, a bungalow built in 1953 in Southwest Florida.

I can get our kayaks into the water in under 8 minutes, and the be on the beach in under that.

It's been three years of renovating, three years of living in a construction zone, but it's almost over.

Today though, we tile a bathroom floor.

Swimming is on the agenda today. A nice outdoor swim at that pool we recently found.

But first, tile.

Mosaic tile is an interesting feat, something that isn't hard to lay, but also takes precision.

My wife has become a master at tiling at this point, something she enjoys doing and honestly is really good at.

We cut and lay, cut and lay. Stop for lunch. Then at it again.

The pool had a kid's Easter egg hunt today so we had to wait to swim.

By the time we get done tiling it's closing time at the pool.

Looks like we are kicking swimming to tomorrow.

I grab some dumbbells and get a quick upper body session in. Taking sets to failure then making dinner.

Waygu steak and some red wine tonight to celebrate being done tiling that bathroom.

I'll put some pictures up soon, it's quite a change...
