Day 28 -Beach Swim Vibes

MY JOURNEY

Another pool...

Has been sitting close to my house and I had no clue.

I'm leaving today again on a quick three day flight up North.

But the flight isn't until 4pm so plenty of time to explore on a Sunday morning.

This pool is beach side, parking is easy to find for 10am, and the lifeguard taking admission is a stereotype all in herself.

The red suit covering tanned skin that only comes from years in the Florida sun. Her hair falls in curls and is naturally highlighted by the outdoor rays.

She's probably in her fifties, but her energy speaks of someone that has never left the mid-teen years when beach bonfires and rolling your own was part of the nightly menu.

After some quick conversation and a change into my jammers, I set my bag down and dip into the four foot end of the pool.

There is five lanes here, split by lane bouys that have seen an endless amount of laps.

An older gentleman swims in the middle lane, quietly putting strokes together as the sea birds fly overhead, looking for anyone that may drop a morsel of food.

Today I have more kick focused work. I put on my fins and begin my work. Hands together and out straight in front, kicks propelling me forward, practicing my breathing.

I cover 1000 meters today before I start some normal freestyle work.

That part is still bad but the drills are helping my kicks and breathing.

Now laying out in the sun, smelling the salt of the ocean, I realize how grateful I am to be on this journey...
