Day 3 - Tour De Fraud
MY JOURNEY

More Lance Bass than Armstrong...
Well, the header isn't even fair because I can't sing, but you get my point.
Today we cycle. 80/20 Endurance has an hour waiting for me. Something I haven't done in...well a long time.
The most I've cycled in the past year has been 20 minutes on the peloton.
For this session though, we use the road bike on the Wahoo Kickr Snap I picked up on Facebook marketplace for $100.
It works like a charm too. I tried it for a short ride on Zwift the other day.
Watopia here we come.
I program in the training session, all 60 minutes of it, pick the London flats as my course (get out of here hills!), and saddle up.
The 5-minute warm-up is solid, keeping my HR in Zone 1.
Then we drop into the 20 minute Zone 2 section.
5 minutes in and I'm good. 10 minutes in and the HR is climbing. 15 minutes in and my legs are screaming.
My quads are burning, my heart rate is starting to climb out of zone, but mentally I'm still in it.
Now we enter the intervals.
3 sets of 5 min Zone 3, with 3 minutes of Zone 1 work between them.
Oh wait, we are also hitting some small hills in London too? LFG!
These are way harder than I expected. I am a noob at shifting, so I just stick in one gear. My bike may as well be one speed.
My HR gets well above expectations as I try to keep with my power zones on Zwift (a mistake I learned in programming) until it hits the 160s.
Finally I get to the cool down portions. Sweat is all over my bike and floor. I'm out of water. I probably should have had some carbs.
You live, you learn, you thrive.
When it's all said and done, I'm exhausted but happy. This is going to be challenging but fun.
