MY JOURNEY

Put on the HR Strap...

Change the shoes.

Throw on the headphones.

And then get out on the run.

That's the steps today as soon as I get home from work.

The legs are crazy sore, and for some reason I am really happy about that.

My quads hurt, my hamstrings are tight, I am not ready to run.

But I'm doing it anyways.

35 minutes of Zone 2 work again today.

I toss on an audiobook, still working through Pet Semetary, and head out to the street.

5 minutes in and I feel like I'm loosening up a bit.

The weather is beautiful again today, the Florida Spring is in full effect.

I have started to master the art of keeping my heart rate in Zone 2 without stopping to walk.

I also have found enjoyment in seeing some of the same people as I run down their streets. I'm not sure if they enjoying seeing me.

There is something about seeing people's routines. Who keeps the same and who changes things around.

I know the bald man in the large mansion sits out on his phone every night, smoking a cigarette to calm his nerves as he yells at someone on the other line.

If that is what it takes to get that mansion, maybe I'm not built for it.

Others are more relaxed, walking their dogs, sweeping out their garages, or simply sitting on the porch having a drink as they watch traffic, and myself, roll by.

Today was a good run, just over 2.8 miles in the 35 minutes.

Slow and steady as I watched the heart rate...
