Day 5 - Compromise

Finding time...

Is hard some days when you have plenty of things going on in life.

Today is one of those days.

Early morning weight training, focusing on the posterior chain is brutally taxing.

The plan is to follow up later tonight with my prescribed 45 minute interval run.

Life though, seems to have different plans some days.

My wife's family is flying into town around 5:30 pm. Plenty of time I think to get my run in after work then meet them for dinner post flight.

The plan is proven wrong as my last meeting ends at 5:15.

Maybe I can beat them home and get out on the run before they arrive.

Wrong again.

But spending quality time with family is more important some times. Especially when I only see them a couple times a year.

We go putt-putt with my six year old nephew, then grab burgers from Shake Shack.

He's psyched, so it is a rewarding night.

Still though, the missed training weighs on my mind.

I'll make it up, but I hate feeling like I bailed on training plans.
