Day 62 - Flying High

MY JOURNEY

If there is one thing...

That I took from the weekend it is that positive vibes are priceless.

In a world where we are constantly stressed, pressured, and negative media abounds, it was completely refreshing to be with that group.

I am leaving South Carolina overwhelmed but refreshed.

There is no training today, just two flights, some sleep, and the Chattanooga 70.3 happening.

One of my co-workers is competing today and I track her on the Ironman app while I sit on my flight delay.

She is crushing it.

They have cancelled the swim due to poor conditions, so the bike is the first leg.

My first flight goes off without a hitch and I watch her finish on my next delay.

Two delays, but nothing can ruin the positivity that is lying inside me.

I board the next flight and a woman sits next to me and tucks her bookbag under the seat in front of her.

It's an Ironman bag, with various event tags.

I ask her about it and we talk for the next hour.

She has completed 6 fulls herself, once finishing just outside of Kona qualification.

That event she swam a 71 minute leg!

She gives me tips on swimming after I tell her my struggles. She is so positive that it has me feeling like I could go out and do one tomorrow!

The flight lands and we disembark, still conversing until we separate at baggage claim.

My bag is soon making its way around the belt and I grab it with a smile on my face.

Next thing I know I am in my truck with my wife and dog.

Positive vibes are at an all-time high...
