Day 65 - Ochy Review and Run Issues

First, let's talk Ochy...
And my reviews of the app upon first use.
It's pretty easy to use, pretty easy to set up, and honestly gives pretty quick feedback.
While reading the directions help with set-up (I didn't do it the first time and had to re-do videos), the actual capture of the videos is pretty simple.
Here are some pictures of the app's breakdown and analysis, as well as some feedback it gives.

From my S&C coach eye the app actually does a pretty nice job with it's fast and furious breakdown of the running form from a 10 second video. It read my flat footed landing well on both the indoor and outdoor video, noticed my knee flexion on landing, and recognized my poor head position. From the rear view it did a nice job analyzing that the left hip was more stable than the right on landing (speaks to yesterday's imbalance testing).
Overall the breakdown was pretty solid and provided good actionable information.
After the app breaks down your gait, it then will ask the amount of corrective workouts per week you would like and then prescribes exercises. While these exercises are super basic and made for beginners to do at home, I am actually pretty impressed by the fluidity the app provides as a one stop shop to help runners.
Now Today's Endurance Training
With all the information from Monday's testing in my mind, it's time to take off on a quick run. If there is one thing that I am, it's a fixer. I fix things that are broken and that is what I intend to do today.
That's a mistake.
After a thorough warm-up (something I have to get better at creating time for), my wife and I drive down to the bay to run by the water. It's hot today, Florida still sitting in the high 80s even at 7 pm.
I start my run and it feels pretty good, working to get my feet back underneath me as I run and trying to land more on my mid-foot.
This soon becomes a massive issue as I my concentration is lending itself more to the forefoot than the mid.
My solueses begin to scream within 10 minutes of my run and I am soon debating on my strategy going forward.
The run turns to an interval before I tell myself to stop being soft and slow my pace.
I ran for the remainder of the time, my lower legs burning and in dull pain with most of my steps.
Finishing on a sidewalk as the sun works its way down towards the horizon, I slowly walk for my cool down as I make my way back to the truck.
I am frustrated as I start our drive home, only 2.37 miles covered today, at a 12-minute pace. I feel like today is a step backwards.
At home we make dinner and I roll out my lower legs.
By the time I get done eating, I am ready to move forward and am already looking to how to improve.
I'm a fixer...
