Day 67 - Longest Bike Yet
MY JOURNEY

The Bike is Addicting…
And I can’t blame Zwift on this one anymore.
I am starting to realize that I like the routine of the bike.
Grab the heart rate monitor, mix up some carb solution, and then find a Zwift course that I find suitable for the prescribed workout.
The trainer has been good to me, and the fact that I can toss on a game while biking makes it all the better.
At some point I will have to get outside, but tonight isn’t the night.
I mix up 25g of carbohydrates. I should probably do a bit more but I don’t want to test the stomach.
I’m beginning to get used to the bike now, shifting becoming a bit more seamless, but today is a flat road ride.
I begin with a warm-up, 5 minutes in Zone 1 followed by 20 in Zone 2.
This has become second nature now, with RPMs riding steady in the high 90s.
The next prescription is 5 minutes of Zone 4 work with a 3 minute Zone 1 recovery for 3 rounds.
I decide to push it a bit today, working my 5 minute zones at wattage higher than normal.
This gets the HR going immediately.
I recover well between my bouts and soon my rounds are over and I am on to an 11 minute cool down.
Sweat is pouring, legs are burning a bit, but I feel great.
16 miles in an hour isn’t anything to smile about but I am.
It’s never bad to have fun…
