Day 8 -Breaking In These Shoes

Slow like a tortoise...

Is how I feel when I begin my run for the day.

5-minute Zone 1 Warm-up, 25-minute Zone 2, 5-minute Zone 1 Cool Down.

I'm starting at around 5:30 pm, my upper back is sore already from the weight training this morning.

New phase started today and it is brutal.

I may be killing myself, but I'm enjoying it.

This run though? Not so much.

The mental frustration I have with my lack of aerobic fitness is palpable.

I run/walk the Zone 1 warm-up. No surprises there.

Now onto Zone 2. I try to keep a slower pace, but my Garmin wonders if I'm even trying.

My heart rate continues to show different.

It isn't too long before I am on my run-walk intervals again.

I continue this for the next 20 minutes until the cool-down begins.

The thing that surprises me? I enjoyed it more and more as I kept running.

And my calf has stopped hurting.

I only covered 2.5 miles today, but it was nice to be outside and let my mind wander.

I think I'm starting to get addicted...
