Day 98 - Ohio Heat
6/23/20251 min read
It's hot in Ohio...
And I'm saying that as someone who lives in Florida full-time.
The heat wave across the state has met up with me as I make a quick 48-hour stop to the family farm between site visits for work.
Last night the visited culminated with a few too many beverages and I'm feeling a little bit beat up today.
Nothing some electrolytes and a good morning run can't fix, though!
Today is a 70 minute Zone 2 run up and down the hills that are my brother's 1/2 mile driveway.
The start is slow. Very slow.
I was sweating before I even got started and my training readiness is a 3.
You read that right!
My heart rate is starting elevated and even at a snail's pace it is getting out of zone.
Looks like today is going to be more of an interval run than anything else.
I run and walk, my headphones filled with a recorded work call that I need to catch up on.
The pond looks amazing as I run by it. Checking in on the fix that are hanging by the edge.
They are probably wondering why the human is out here instead of the AC.
Smart fish.
I run and walk, run and walk, run and sweat, walk and sweat.
Hydrate, sweat, hydrate, sweat, hydrate, sweat.
The 70-minute ends and I've clocked almost 6 miles. Not bad for starting the day in a tough spot.
The best part is that my legs feel pretty good.
Even the bad days are getting better...
